The glossary

Lesson texts set apart:

• note names, in bold colour;
• signs: ♯, ♭, ♮ and others;
• terms, with a dotted underline.

In theory, point at an underlined word (or reach it with the Tab key, or tap it on a phone) and a hint with its definition appears. Esc closes it. The link in the hint leads to the glossary.

In exercises and tests terms are marked too, but there are no hints: recalling what they mean is part of the task.

The "Glossary" page

Every term is on the "Glossary" page: notation, accidentals, rhythm, pitch, modes and chords, and also intervals, kinds of chords, scales and note values. The search finds a term by its name, by any of its forms and by the words of its definition.

The glossary is shown in the language of the interface. Whether notes are named with letters or with syllables is chosen in "Settings".
